I know in many classrooms around the nation, our students know less and less personal data. We can blame it on technology, or we can use technology to help our children learn it. One of my favorite things to use in a strategy like this is a social story. This personalizes their learning, and helps them remember very important facts that all students, especially those with special needs, need to know. Personal data are important facts for all children to know, for social interactions as well as safety reasons.
Google is a wonderful and easy tool to use when creating a social story. I have created an outline that you are welcome to use here.
